|One Door Closes -
After almost 21 years of business on Short Central Avenue
in downtown Summerville, Art Central Ltd. Gallery (130
Central Avenue) is closing its doors in Downtown
Summerville. Now a new adventure beckons!
But this isn’t the end! This fall, artists—familiar folks from
Art Central as well as new talent from the area—will open
ART On The Square @Nexton! Our new gallery, to be
located at 420 Nexton Square Drive in the new Nexton
Development outside of Summerville promises to be the
premiere gallery in the Tri-County area.
Follow us on Facebook to keep up with the new work we
are creating and progress on the new gallery!
Art Central's Story
Over the last two decades, many changes have happened
in the downtown area. Many more people have moved to

notice, and soon an itch became a full-fledged passion to
pull up stakes and head to Nexton.
So, with a slight tremble in their voices, the intrepid artists
said good-bye to their home on Short Central Avenue.
They said so long for now to the wonderful people who had
become loyal customers and friends over the years. They
promised to keep in touch. And these artists promised to
open Art on the Square @Nexton.
This is where we find our little group of artists now—working
hard to make this dream come true. They are busy creating
new work, planning a bright, contemporary setting to
display their art, inviting associates to join them in their new
